Does the ERV fresh air system need to be turned on all the time?
It is recommended to turn it on for a long time:
The core function of the fresh air system is to continuously replace indoor and outdoor air, maintain indoor oxygen content, reduce carbon dioxide concentration, and filter pollutants
(such as PM2.5, formaldehyde, odor, etc.). If it is turned off for a long time, the indoor air may gradually become polluted due to airtightness (especially in windowless rooms).
Suitable scenarios: haze areas, newly renovated houses (formaldehyde needs to be removed), densely populated or pet families, people who are sensitive to air quality (such as asthma patients).
Energy saving suggestions: Choose low-speed mode or smart variable frequency models, which usually have low power consumption (some models are as low as 10-30W), and the cost of long-term
operation is controllable.
Situations where intermittent operation can be turned on:
If the outdoor air quality is good (such as spring and autumn), the home is often ventilated, or ventilation is only required during specific periods (such as cooking, after a party),
it can be turned on manually or on a scheduled basis.
The ideal solution is to turn on the low-speed mode for a long time, which can ensure fresh air and control energy consumption. If you are concerned about cost or noise, you can adjust
it flexibly according to actual needs, but you need to avoid frequent switching (which will affect the life of the equipment). Regular maintenance of the filter and pipes will achieve the best results.
